Kahawa Pride FC enjoyed a successful weekend on both fronts as the Alphas produced their biggest victory of the season while the Lionesses strengthened their position in the FKF Nairobi East Women's Regional League with an important home win.
The Alphas delivered a commanding 5-0 victory away to Maaji FC at the MYSA Mwiki Grounds, while the Lionesses edged Shrink Pack 2-1 thanks to a brace from in-form forward Rebecca Munasio.
Alphas Produce Season's Biggest Win
Heading into the match, the Alphas knew the importance of securing maximum points with only six matches remaining in their promotion push.
The fixture also carried added significance after the first-leg encounter ended in a 1-1 draw before we were later awarded all three points following a successful appeal against Maaji FC regarding player forgery.
This time, however, there was no need for an appeal as the Alphas settled matters emphatically on the pitch.
Austin Ochieng opened the scoring in the 11th minute to give us an early advantage before Felix Kamau doubled the lead in the 30th minute after being set up by Gideon Etyang.
The Alphas continued to dominate proceedings and added a third goal just before halftime when Brian Macharia finished off a move created by Marvin Okech in the 44th minute, sending the boys into the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead.
Any hopes of a Maaji comeback were quickly extinguished after the restart.
Kamau grabbed his second goal of the afternoon in the 48th minute to make it 4-0 before experienced midfielder and captain Lewis Mwaniki converted a penalty eight minutes later to complete the scoring.

With the result beyond doubt, the technical bench made a series of substitutions, introducing Rahim Salehe, Munyora, Kassim Mwinyi, Ezekiel Dugu, and Bradley Maloba as the team comfortably saw out the victory.
Kamau's influential performance, which yielded two goals and a constant attacking threat, earned him the Player of the Match award.
The result keeps the Alphas firmly in the hunt for promotion as they continue their impressive run during the closing stages of the season.
Munasio Brace Lifts Lionesses

Earlier, the Lionesses returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Shrink Pack.
After narrowly losing 1-0 to league leaders Kahawa Queens in their previous outing, the Lionesses responded with renewed determination and energy.
Rebecca Munasio once again proved decisive for Kahawa Pride, opening the scoring in the 18th minute after being assisted by Margaret Njeri.
The winger doubled both her tally and the team's lead in the 38th minute, giving the Lionesses a deserved 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
The two-goal haul took Munasio's season tally to seven goals and highlighted her growing importance to the team's attacking ambitions during the final stretch of the campaign.
Shrink Pack managed to pull one goal back in the 72nd minute, setting up a tense finish, but the Lionesses remained composed and defended resolutely to secure all three points.
Munasio's match-winning performance earned her the Player of the Match award.

Strong Weekend for Kahawa Pride
The victories provide a timely boost for both teams as they enter the decisive phase of their respective campaigns.
For the Alphas, the emphatic win over Maaji FC strengthens their push for promotion with six matches remaining, while the Lionesses continue to fight for a strong finish with fixtures against Kamongo Starlets and Fearless Ladies still to come.
With momentum building across both squads, Kahawa Pride FC will look to carry the confidence from this successful weekend into the crucial matches that lie ahead.
